EXPLORE THE GILI ISLANDS WITH US – LOMBOK ADVENTURE

When we arrived at the islands, we were totally blown away by the blue and turquoise water! The 3 beautiful islands belong to Lombok. Gili Trawangan is the most touristic and party suitable island, Gili Meno the most remote and silent island with only a few buildings, and Gili Air the perfect in between. We chose Gili Air because it´s perfect for couples who just want to relax for a few days. For sunrise you have to go to the East of the island and for sunset to the West.
1. Boat transfer Padang Bai – Gili Air
It is really important that you choose a good, more expensive boat operator! There were several really bad accidents with cheap boats! We highly recommend Blue Water Express or at least Gili Gili fast boat. We got picked up in Ubud in the early morning and arrived a few hours later in Padang Bai at the East Coast. Well, we tell you the truth, the 2-hour boat ride isn´t nice! On the open ocean, there are often high waves and the boat flopped after every wave. It might be better to take some travel tablets before!!!
2. Gili Air – Marina Villa: the best place to stay
Arrived on Gili Air, we were surprised that there are only horse-drawn carriages, no scooters. You can walk around the island in only 1 hour! We stayed at Villa Marina with a private pool and really loved it! The villas are so beautiful and close to the snorkel spots.
3. Exploring the East Coast and Turtle Point – Snorkeling with turtles
The turtle point is located in the East of Gili Air, and we saw many many turtles! You can start snorkeling from the beach, there are so many colorful fishes and corals! It was our first time snorkeling and we were totally blown away. A big turtle floated in the water, nibbled on a coral and came up to inhale some fresh air. Fantastic!
4. Our 5-hour snorkel tour around the 3 islands
Our Airbnb, Marina Villa, organized us a 5-hour snorkel tour with a private boat. We highly recommend to book a private snorkel tour for 50$ the day instead of charing a little boat with 15 other tourists! You will be able to enjoy the spots a lot more! Our boatsman showed us together with his little son the most beautiful snorkel places around the three islands. We found the most turquoise water in front of Gili Trawangan and we saw so many turtles and even a ray. The Coral Garden and the Air Wall is very impressive!
5. Biking tour around the island – the West of Gili Air and Hans Reef in the North

6. The middle of the island
Spend some time exploring the hundreds of little alleys and talk to some locals. Everywhere they build new houses, working with their cattle or have a little restaurant. There are many colorful signs so you can´t get lost ;). Do us a favor and use the bike instead of
7. Catch up some sunsets and sunrises!
Head on the East side of the island to enjoy a sunset, the West is the best for sunrise. Enjoy the colors and the view on Lombok and the other Gili islands.
6. Amazing Restaurants directly at the ocean
There are hundreds of beach bars, just try a lot. We ate multiple times at Scratch. Amazing food! In the evening there was a band from Lombok and a fire show.
